When we finally got to the front at 11:10, we were told we were too early and had to join the queue again at the back! You can be 10 minutes early, that is fine. We had a time slot from 11:30am to 12:00 so we joined the long queue at about 10:45am. However, the company responsible seems to think you should know. Now can anyone tell me how long it will take to get to the front of this queue? No. Once you buy a ticket, you have a 30 minute time slot. This can be done online or in the ticket office by the cable car station. We turned up early, and there was a huge queue. Getting into the cable car in the first place! 5 stars for the view and the cable car journey up. Absolutely amazing and this is a must for anyone visiting Lake Garda. Ok, firstly the views from the Mountain are breathtaking. Out of all the places we visited on this trip, this is the spot we'd like to return to the most, simply to spend more time in the sun on Monte Baldo. We spent another hour walking along the ridge, enjoying watching the paragliders launch into the breeze. We spent an hour or so just sitting in the beautiful meadow, sketching the view, sunning ourselves, and simply drinking in the natural beauty. The various paths to other vantage points are easily walked, and lead to even more stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Luckily we had also brought a bag that we crammed all our extra outwear into.Īnyway, the views from the top are stunning. Of course, it was a beautiful sunny day over 70☏. I checked a couple of web sites for what the weather was likely to be, and they were all over the place, from 40☏ to 70☏, so we brought layers, to handle cool weather, or rainy weather, or cool rainy weather. We had asked at our hotel what the weather was likely to be, and the person recommended that we dress like an onion, with layers to handle any weather. Mildly annoying with a long queue of people behind us, but not too bad. I had purchased tickets online, and I had to scan our four ticket QR codes from my phone, twice on the way up, twice on the way down. My wife and I, along with our two early-20s kids, took the two gondolas up to Monte Baldo from Malcesine. We also spent time at the play area at the Sky Walk cafe. The views up here are amazing, Even with the cloud covering us up for most of the afternoon, It cleared up long enough for us to see the amazing views. Not a huge shock if you do touch it, but best to stay clear. Several of us touched this accidentally because we thought for sure the electrical fence would be the inner fence, but No the outer fence is also electrical. ***BEWARE avoid touching the BLUE fence as it is electrical. We hiked the top of mountain and saw the alpacas. We had a great espresso and adult beverages at the cafe. The lift was under half full and we spent from 3-6 up at the top. However it was cloudy this day, with some rain in the area, so I don't know if this would have mattered this day. ![]() I had read the reviews about not going up during the 12-2pm time to avoid the crowds and that is what we did. We had a wonderful day with the entire family doing this.
